Review: Codemasters always had an odd choice of heroes for their 8-bit games. So far we've had an boxing-glove wearing egg (Dizzy) and a movie star bit of lard (Seymour). Now Codies have done it again and come up with a cute and loveable slug!
This game has the great colour graphics you'd expect from a Codmasters cartoon game, but (unlike most Codemasters cartoon games) it has a very original concept behind it.
You've got to find a way to guide bubbles containing food up through various obstacles to your baby slugs. The bubbles are affected by fans and burst by bubbles amongst other things. Often the journey must be done in several stages, usually requireing split-second timing.
The game does get repetetive after a while, so you're not going to do it all in one go, but unlike most Codies cartoon games, you don't have to, you can enter the password to start from your last level. So after giving up in frustration, in a few hours, you'll give it another go. Instructions: The object of the game is to feed your cute baby slugs before they starve. You do this by trapping maggots in floating bubbles of mucas. These bubbles will float upwards, being affected by various gizmos you generally wouldn't expect to find in a slug's prefered habitat. It's up to you to figure out where to release the bubbles and what you need to do to keep them going, leading them eventually to your little sprogs.
